Ruud Van Nistelrooy set to be appointed Leicester City head coach

Leicester City are set to appoint Ruud Van Nistelrooy as the club’s head coach after reaching an agreement between both parties.

“Ruud van Nistelrooy set to be appointed as new Leicester City head coach! Agreement done and documents being signed with his camp.” said Fabrizio Romano.

The former Manchester United assistant coach left Old Trafford following the arrival of Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP and after a successful run as an interim manager.

“Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club. Ruud rejoined in the summer and has taken charge of the team for the past four matches as interim head coach.

Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend. We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he has approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford” said Manchester United through a statement

A few days ago Leicester City parted ways with manager Steve Cooper following dismal results and after a defeat against Chelsea.

“Leicester City Football Club has parted company with Steve Cooper, who leaves his position as First Team Manager with immediate effect.

Assistant Manager Alan Tate and First Team Coach and Analyst Steve Rands have also left the Club. Steve, Alan and Steve depart with our thanks for their contribution during their time with the Club and with our best wishes for the future.

Men’s First Team training will be overseen by First Team Coach Ben Dawson, supported by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes, as the Club begins the process of appointing a new manager, which we hope to conclude as soon as possible.” read the statement
