Sporting president Varandas has broken his silence over Victor Gyokeres stalled move to Arsenal and his absence for pre-season training.
Through a statement, Varandas noted that the player has a market valuation that should be met for the business to be closed between the two clubs.

He continued by saying that since the transfer is coming to an end, then Gyikeres is set to pay a hefty fine and apologise to the club if the move stalls.
“If they don’t want to pay Viktor’s fair market value, we’re very comfortable with that for the next three years.
This strategy is also making it more complicated for the player to leave. Nobody is above the interests of the club. Whoever they are.
We’re calm. Everything will be resolved with the market closing, a hefty fine and an apology to the group”. he said
