St. George’s Secondary School in Nairobi has been closed indefinitely following student unrest.
The students were reportedly protesting over a teacher whom they accused of assaulting one of the students on Sunday. According to reports, the teacher has been arrested after the incident.

The unrest by female students saw the arrival of police to calm the situation, but they overwhelmed them, forcing the management to close the school indefinitely.
“Students at St. George’s school in Nairobi are on strike after one of their comrades was assaulted by a teacher for being outside viewing the eclipse.
The students slept outside, making noise, calling for justice. Police were overwhelmed by the students and could not contain the protest.
Parents have arrived at the school in a bid to find a solution, but what is clear is that the winds of change are blowing even in schools,” said Francis Gaitho
