Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga has broken silence over the assassination of Kasipul MP Charles Were.
Speaking at the home of the late MP, Wanga raised questions as to who killed the legislators and why he was taken out.
“Today, at the home of Hon. Charles Ong’ondo Were in Kachien, we stood with the family, community members, & leaders of Kasipul & Homa Bay to honour Sir Charles’ legacy as funeral arrangements progress.

His body will arrive via Kabunde Airstrip on Thur, the 8th, for burial on 9th.” said Wanga
She continued by sending a strong message that they did not sign up for the broad-based government to have their members assassinated.
According to the Homabay Governor, Nyanza still remains an ODM zone and that they will protect it including their party leader Raila Odinga with their lives.
Wanga was speaking as she informed UDA that they will not be welcomed to the County to run there campaigns by virtue of being in the broad-based government.
The statement by Wanga has raised questions as to whether there are cracks in the agreement between Raila Odinga and President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 elections.
