Arsenal beat Nottingham Forest to kick off a perfect start

Arsenal opened their Premier League campaign with an important win against Nottingham Forest thanks to two quick first half goals.

The Gunners who stepped in as the favourites in the early kick off produced a strong lineup including new signing Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber. Thomas Partey was moved to the right wing.

Taking over 90% ball possession in the first 20 minutes, Arsenal broke the deadlock through Eddie Nketiah who finished off a neat Martinelli pass through the hands of their former goalkeeper Turner.

Saka doubled the lead shortly when his well taken shot went through the far end of the net beating Turner and open his goal scoring tally of the season.

Timber who sustained an injury was then brought off in the 50th minute and replaced by Tomiyasu. At the time Nottingham were picking momentum causing problems on their opponent defense.

Taiwo who has enjoyed scoring against Arsenal was at it again in the 82nd minute thanks to a perfect counter attack.

Mikel Arteta side held through the reminder of the clash before walking out as the winners of the opener at the Emirates Stadium.
