Brazilian federation has dropped Manchester United forward Antony following allegations of domestic violence.
Through a statement, the federation noted that the move is meant to safeguard the alleged victim and the player as investigations continue.

“In order to safeguard the alleged victim, the player, the Brazilian national team and the CBF, the organization informs that Antony has been removed from the Brazilian national team” said the federation.
Taking on Instagram, the former Ajax player noted that the allegation by his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin are false and that he is a victim as well.
Antony continued by confirming that he has cooperated with police officers in the investigation and the evidence being collected confirms that he is innocent. He also confirmed that his relationship with Cavallin has had verbal offenses and not even once did it escalate to physical.
According to the Manchester United winger, Gabriela has been issuing different version of her allegations but he strongly trusts the ongoing investigation.
