EPRA announces new Diesel and Kerosene prices effective immediately

The Energy Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) confirmed new fuel prices on Monday following a day long of protest across the country.

According to EPRA, Diesel price will decrease by Ksh 10, Petrol price will remain unchanged and the price of Kerosene will go up by Ksh 38.60 per litre.

Under the new prices, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will now retail at Ksh 214.25, Kshs.232.86 and Kshs.191.38 respectively starting tonight and the prices will remain in force for the next one month.

“We have recalculated the maximum petroleum prices to be in force from 19th May 2026 to 14th June 2026 following a petition by public transport sector operators on the need to minimize the risk of motor fuel adulteration that may arise due to Diesel & Kerosene price difference.

In Nairobi, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene now retail at Kshs.214.25, Kshs.232.86 and Kshs.191.38 effective midnight for the next 30 days. Here is the updated petroleum pump price list in a town near you.

The applicable pump price per litre in Nairobi for Diesel therefore decreases by Kshs.10.06/litre and that of Kerosene increases by Kshs.38.60/litre. The price for Super Petrol remains unchanged,” said EPRA

The news comes hours after a meeting between the stakeholders in the matatu sector, the CS for Energy and Transport failed to reach an agreement on Monday evening.
