Erik Ten Hag explains decision to substitute Højlund

Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag has explained his decision to bring off former Atalanta striker Højlund on Saturday.

Speaking after their 3-1 defeat against Brighton at Old Trafford, the former Ajax manager noted that his recent addition was not fit to finish the game.

He was speaking after Manchester United fans booed at him after making the decision which was considered a bad one as Højlund threatened and looked promising to turn things around.

“It was positive. Reception was great —he performed very well & it was good they gave this signal, will give him belief. He was just not ready for a whole game,” said Ten Hag

Manchester United suffered their third defeat on Saturday against Brighton ending the 31 unbeaten home run and succumbed to 12th position with sic points from five games played.

The supporters are now demanding immediate action and calling for the exit of Glazer family which has been blamed for the woes surrounding them.
