Firefighters in Cyprus are struggling to contain wildfires that have forced the evacuation of at least four villages due to soaring temperatures.
The affected areas are located in the terrain north of the southern city of Limassol where strong winds and temperatures have been recorded. The fire department confirmed that damage has been on the homes known for its vineyards.

Cyprus has already notified European Union assistance scheme to assist them contain the fire as Jordan has committed to offer assistance.
“The situation is very difficult and the fire front is huge. All forces have been mobilised,” said President Nikos Christodoulides.
Even though the cause of the inferno is not yet known, 14 aircraft and workers are currently on the ground to put off the inferno whose cause if not yet known.
