The government has introduced Lipa SHA pole pole, an initiative meant to allow contributors in informal sector to make payment to the medical scheme.
Confirming the new scheme was President William Ruto who said that it allows flexible and manageable payments either on a monthly, weekly or on a daily basis.

“To address persistent challenges such as irregular premium contributions among informal sector workers, we are introducing an innovative and inclusive payment solution called LIPA SHA POLE POLE “, said President William Ruto
He continued by saying that Lipa SHA pole pole will ensure families get access to affordable medical cover without feeling the strain that comes with its payment.
The new medical scheme has been made possible thanks to a partnership between the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs, Mobile Network Operators, and Financial Institutions through the Hustler Fund.
