Manchester United, Manchester City suffer defeat to drop points

Both Manchester United and Manchester City dropped points over the weekend following home and away defeats respectively.

Manchester United which was facing Crystal Palace for the second match in a row suffered a 1-0 loss at Old Trafford barely days after knocking them out of the Carabao Cup.

An injury full United was without the services of important players including Martinez who have been sidelined due to injury failed to respond despite staging a spirited fight throughout the clash.

The loss condemned Erik Ten Hag side to 10th position with nine goals from seven matches played and nine points behind league leaders Manchester City.

Manchester City still command the lead with 18 points despite the loss but are one point ahead of Arsenal who won their Saturday fixture against Bournemouth.
