Ten police officers have on Monday been arrested following the shooting of a civilian in London Estate, Nakuru County.
The incident was followed by a clash between the police and civilians who demanded justice as the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) launched investigation.
The protests are reported to have began after the police attempted to arrest three people as revealed by a resident who also confirmed that the police shot in the air.

“Maafande walikuja baze, wakashika vijana watatu. Hao vijana hawakukubali kuingia kwa gari… wakashoot juu,” revealed a witness
Another resident revealed that the victim identified as Dan was shot in the mouth by the police as they demanded the release of his body.
“Wametuzoea… wamemshoot kwa mdomo. Tunaomba watupee mwili ya mwenzetu, mwili ya Dan,” said the woman
Confirming the incident was Nakuru County Police Commander Michael Mwaura who said that all officers have been subjected to investigation and their guns taken in for ballistic examination.
Mwaura continued by saying that a parade will be conducted on Tuesday in an attempt to identify the officer involved in the incident.
“All officers have been subjected to investigations. The firearms have been taken for ballistic analysis. All officers are under arrest,” he said
According to Mwaura, the police on patrol arrested a youth for peddling bhang and learnt that he had obtained it from a dealer.
Hell broke lose when the police visited the dealer’s home.
