The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officials have arrested two National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) officials based in Kriinyaga over bribery claims.
The suspects Mr. Ephraim Maina and Ms. Abigael Wambua were arrested following allegations of receiving Ksh 60,000 as bribe to facilitate Ksh 2.77 million payment to Jererukizma Holdings Ltd.
Another suspect identified as Mr. Lawrence Kaara is still at large and has been advised to surrender at the EACC offices.

“The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested two officials of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) based in Kirinyaga County following a bribery report received on 14th July 2025.
The suspects, Mr. Ephraim Maina (Chairman) and Ms. Abigael Wambua (County Coordinator), were apprehended on 18th July 2025 after receiving a bribe of Kshs. 60,000 from representatives of Jererukizma Holdings Ltd as an inducement to facilitate payment of goods worth Kshs. 2.77 million. The officials had demanded a total of Kshs. 270,000.
The third suspect, Mr. Lawrence Kaara (Procurement Officer), remains at large and has been directed to report to EACC Central Region offices on Monday.” said EACC
The two have since been released on Ksh 100,000 bail after they had been booked at Kerugoya Police Station.
“Following their arrest, the suspects were booked at Kerugoya Police Station and later processed at EACC Central Regional Offices in Nyeri. They have since been released on a cash bail of Kshs. 100,000 each pending their appearance before the Kerugoya Anti-Corruption Court.
