Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetangula, has intensified his efforts to secure the Western Kenya voting bloc following his recent series of meetings.
In his recent high-level engagements, the Speaker has held a series of meetings with teachers and union leaders, leaders who hold a high level of significance in the area of politics.

On Saturday, Wetangula met teachers who raised their complaints about the difficulties they are facing with the SHA system.
The Ford Kenya party leader assured them that he would have a meeting with Health CS Aden Duale to raise their concerns, especially on the freedom to select their hospital of choice.
“I acknowledge the concerns raised by teachers over the difficulties in accessing quality healthcare under the new SHA scheme. These challenges are real and require urgent attention.
Today, while hosting teachers from Bungoma County at my residence, I assured them that I will meet the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Adan Duale, next week to discuss practical solutions to the early challenges affecting their full access to the scheme.
Junior Secondary School teachers also reiterated their call for complete autonomy to support the effective implementation of the new education system,” he said
According to political analysts, the move by the Speaker of the National Assembly is a familiar move that he deployed back in 2022 and is meant to secure President William Ruto’s second-term bid.
