Bare Sahara arrested over an alleged inciteful viral video

The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has arrested one Bara Sahara over a viral video on social media that contained inciteful words.

According to DCI, investigations are ongoing to establish the context of the video and intent of the statement that she issued in the video.

“Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested Bare Sahara Ahmed in connection with remarks captured in a viral video circulating on social media, deemed to be inciteful and likely to undermine national cohesion.

The arrest follows a swift and thorough review of the video, alongside ongoing investigations to establish the full context and intent of the statements made.

The suspect is currently in lawful custody and is being processed pending arraignment in court,” said DCI

Members of the public have been advised to exercise caution when issuing such utterances that could cause severe consequences.

“The DCI wishes to remind members of the public that freedom of expression, as enshrined in the Constitution, must be exercised responsibly and within the confines of the law. Utterances that may incite division, hatred, or threaten peaceful coexistence will be dealt with firmly and without exception.

Members of the public are urged to remain calm, maintain peace, and refrain from sharing inflammatory content that may escalate tensions,” said DCI
