Four police officers reassigned following Kevin Kang’ethes’ escape

A total of four police officers who were tasked with manning Muthaiga Police Station where murder suspect Kevin Kang’the was being held have been reassigned.

Confirming the news was Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei who said that the reassignment was part of disciplinary measures by the police force.

Bungei continued by confirming that John Ndegwa Maina, the lawyer of the escapee remains in custody following the Wednesday incident that has raised questions into the security of the country.

The Nairobi police boss revealed that a preliminary investigation has been conducted and has confirmed that John Ndegwa Maina is a genuine lawyer and has been representing the accused.

The police will investigate the events leading to the escape of Kevin Kang’ethe who was being held for the murder of a woman in the US. The court was to issue a verdict as to whether he will interdicted in the US or not.

Kang’ethe dashed out of the station after he was visited by the lawyer who was granted space to talk to his client. Effort by the police to rearrest him failed.
