The High Court has on Thursday denied bail former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu bail following his fresh application.
“Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu Babayo will remain in custody after the High Court dismissed his latest attempt to secure bail pending appeal after filing a fresh application.

Mr. Waititu is serving a 12-year sentence at Kamiti Maximum Prison following his February 2025 conviction by the Nairobi Anti-Corruption Court.” said ODPP
In her ruling, Justice Lucy Njuguna noted that the matter had already been determined back on 3rd March 2025 thus directing parties to file submission.
“The DPP argued that Waititu’s application was res judicata since the court had already determined the issue on bail pending appeal on 3rd March 2025.
Nairobi Anti-Corruption High Court Justice Lucy Njuguna dismissed the application, terming it devoid of merit.
The High Court further issued directions on the appeal, directing parties to file submissions.
The case is scheduled for mention again on 18th June, 2025, to confirm compliance.” said ODPP
