Arsenal held by Tottenham in North London Derby

Arsenal was on Sunday held to a 2-2 draw by Tottenham in the North London Derby thanks to two goals by captain Son.

Both sides settled quickly into the clash with Arsenal carrying the ball towards their opponents who remain unbeaten in the league.

England winger Bukayo Saka had his strike deflected by Romero giving the Gunners the lead in the 26th minute. Sixteen minutes later Tottenham captain Son Heung-min kept both sides level when his clever touch hit the left post and into the net.

Arteta made a number of changes in the second half bringing in Harvetz and Jorginho after taking our Viera and Rice. The changes destabilized Arsenal midfield which has for sometime adapted to each other.

Saka once again gave Mikel Arteta’s side the lead from the Penalty spot but Son immediately responded when Jorginho lost the ball a minute later.

The star boy picked up an injury and was substituted sending a cloud of worry on the squad wellness ahead of their EFL fixture against Brentford on 27th September, 2023.

The draw leaves Arsenal in 5th position and level on points with Tottenham who are above them on goal difference.
