Chelsea beat Fulham as Mudryk ends goal drought

Chelsea got off the mark on Monday night beating Fulham and giving them a sign of relief for better results to come.

Eighteen minutes into the game,  Mykhailo Mudryk calmly controlled Levi Colwill’s pass before sliding it in between Bernd Leno’s legs for the opener.

The goal was not only important for the Mudryk but for the entire Chelsea team who celebrated getting the lead in their do or die clash of the Premier League.

One minute later, Broja doubled the lead when Palmer’s through pass hit Broja’s legs into the net. The Blues could have made it three in the second half byt Ian Maatsen’s strike hit the post as Enzo Fernández’s rebound was pushed out.

Alex Iwobi could have pulled one for the host but he wasted an open chance as Chelsea recorded a back to back win following Brighton’s 1-0 win in the Carabao Cup.

The win leaves Chelsea in 11th position with eight points from seven matches played, a point behind 10th placed Manchester United. They are also level on points with Fulham who are in 13th position.
