Sir Alex Ferguson rushed to hospital after feeling unwell at Old Trafford

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was on Sunday rushed to the hospital after feeling unwell at Old Trafford.

At the time of the incident, the former manager was taken out of the stadium using an ambulance with the move considered a precautionary one pending further medical examination.

It is understood that at the time of publishing that the 84 year-old was conscious and is expected to remain in the hospital for examination.

Sir Alex Ferguson who is a regular face at Old Trafford led the club for 27 years following his appointment in 1986.

He won 13 Premier League and two Champions League trophies during the period where he was incharge of 1,500 games for the Red Devils.

After his retirement, he was the club’s ambassador, a role that ended in 2025 after the club commenced finance cuts.

In May 2018, Sir Alex Ferguson underwent an emergency surgery for a brain haemorrhage. He was discharged and later received a standing ovation following his return at Old Trafford.
